FAIRMONT, Calif. () — Evacuation warnings have been lifted for a 188-acre brush fire that broke out in the Antelope Valley on Saturday evening.

The Juno Fire burned in the Fairmont area at Lancaster Road and Munz Ranch Road. It was the second brush fire to impact the area this weekend.

The fire was first reported shortly before 6 p.m., according to the Los Angeles County Fire Department. The evacuation warnings were lifted shortly before 8 p.m. after forward progress was stopped and the fire reached 42% containment.

The Juno Fire burned several miles away from the Summit Fire, which has been active since Friday afternoon.

The Summit Fire grew to 2,690 acres, triggering evacuation warnings and orders for nearby residents.

By Saturday, crews had made progress on the fire, but the evacuations remained in place.
