Jennifer Lopez is getting the birthday celebrations started early.
On Sunday, July 19, the Office Romance star documented a recent trip with her sister, Lynda Lopez, via Instagram to mark both of their birthdays. Lynda turned 55 on June 14, while Jennifer will celebrate her 57th birthday on July 24.
The carousel of images and videos included photos of the pair attending Wimbledon in London and Dolce and Gabbana’s Alta Moda runway show in Sicily earlier this month. But among the more intimate snaps, Jennifer, 56, shared a picture of her and Lynda indulging in a dessert in a luxury hotel bathroom — with the star taking a soak in the bathtub.
“A double birthday sister trip is always a good idea!! I love you Lynnie!! Happy birthday!!” the actress and singer captioned the post.
A short video included in the carousel also showed Jennifer and Lynda at a birthday dinner, where they were each presented with a birthday cake to celebrate another turn around the sun.
As well as Lynda, Jennifer has an older sister, Leslie, 58.
The “On the Floor” singer reflected on her upbringing and her close bond with Lynda during her speech at Variety’s Power of Women event in 2014. Jennifer recalled being pregnant with her twins, Max and Emme, now 18, at the same time as Lynda was pregnant.
“During that time we started talking every day, sometimes staying up until the wee hours of the night discussing how having children would change our lives and what we were going to do,” she said. “It was just like when we were kids, sharing a bedroom in the Bronx — sharing a bed in the Bronx with our other sister, all three of us — talking about our hopes and dreams.”
Jennifer, who shares Max and Emme with ex-husband Marc Anthony, recently celebrated the twins’ high school graduation. In a May interview on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, she admitted to getting emotional over her children growing up and soon going off to college.
“Tomorrow, one of them graduates. Don’t talk about it ‘cos we start crying. I’ve been crying for two months,” she said.
Despite being sad about Max and Emme eventually flying the nest, Jennifer said, “I want them to be happy, go where they want to go, and do what they want to do.”
“I remember being that age and thinking I couldn’t wait to get out in the world and do my thing. I really wanted to get out,” she added. “All year people have been asking me, ‘Oh, they’re going away to college, is it going to be terrible?’ No, it’s going to be great. I want them to go out there. I want them to do what they want to do. They have big dreams. They have things they want to do. It’s going to be great.”
