You don’t have to spend dough on these ‘nuts.
In honor of National Doughnut Day on Friday, June 5, confection chains across the nation are offering sweet deals and freebies on America’s favorite circular pastry.
While this day might sound like a marketing gimmick, it was actually established in 1938 to commemorate the “Doughnut Lassies” of World War I, Salvation Army volunteers who served these tasty pastry rings to soldiers on the front lines.
Doughnut depots have since follow suit with the masses, offering giveaways and discounts that, for inflation-weary confection fiends, likely fill a major donut hole. As a service to doughnut-lovers, we rounded up the stores that are serving free and discounted donuts in honor of the high-octane holiday.
Just be aware that these offers are only valid at participating branches, and chains will continue to announce promos throughout the day so check back for the latest deals.
Duck Donuts
Duck Donuts is offering customers a complimentary Classic Donut at participating locations. On top of that, this North Carolina-based pastry purveyor is also giving customers more bang for their “duck” by offering six donuts for $6 through June 5. Meanwhile,, patrons who purchase a dozen also receive a free rubber duck while supplies last.
Dunkin’
Everybody runs on Dunkin’….especially when they’re giving away the goods. Today, participating locations of the pink and orange coffee chain will be giving customers a free fat ring if they purchase a drink. Meanwhile, the icing on the cake donut is that customers can receive a limited-time Dunkin’ tote bag with the purchase of half a dozen doughnuts or more.
Krispy Kreme
When it comes to Doughnut Day deals, this green and white chain offers the Kreme of the crop. Krispy Kreme is celebrating the holiday in style by gifting customers a complimentary donut of their choosing — no purchase necessary.
If that wasn’t a sweet enough deal, patrons who buy a dozen donuts can and get a dozen Glazed ones for $2 at participating outlets.
7-Eleven
All day today, 7Rewards and Speedy Rewards members can purchase classic glazed donuts for 50 cents each at participating 7-Eleven, Speedway and Stripes locations. There is no cap on this deal.
Can’t make it there on time for Doughnut Day? Not a problem. Customers can buy 7-Select Mini Donut packs for just $1 through June 23, 2026 at participating locations.
Randy’s Donuts
New York’s own Randy’s Donuts on 185 Bleecker Street in Greenwich Village is also getting in on the free confection offensive.
From 6am to noon, in-store customers can receive one complimentary classic donut while customers named Randy can receive a free Randy’s cup and a sticker sheet — so don’t forget your ID!
