LONG BEACH, Calif. () — Dramatic new video circulating online shows U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) arresting a man in Long Beach.

The group StopICE.net shared video of the incident, which happened on Saturday morning near 56th Street and Elm Avenue.

The group says in the moments before the video was recorded, ICE agents used a vehicle to run the man down and tackle him to the ground.

Advocates say the man seen being detained is a U.S. citizen from Long Beach.

You can hear his cries for help in the video as he’s being held down and restrained by masked agents.

A new study by UCLA and UC Berkeley is shedding new light on the ICE enforcement surge across Southern California.

“Help me! Help me! My arm is f—— broken,” the man is heard yelling.

Witnesses say he was also tased.

The man was eventually taken to a hospital to be treated after Long Beach police arrived.

“He was just riding his bike down a residential street, in his own neighborhood, and here comes ICE, speeding down the streets, going 50 mph in a residential area, kids playing, where there’s families, on a Saturday,” said Sherman Austin with StopICE.net.

Former Long Beach mayor and current Congressman Robert Garcia responded to the video, saying, in part, “ICE agents brutally attacked and broke the arm of a North Long Beach resident and U.S. citizen. The videos are horrific and should concern not just our community but the country.”

Eyewitness News reached out to the Department of Homeland Security about the arrest but has not yet heard back.

Congressman Garcia’s statement prompted a response from First Asst. U.S. Attorney Bill Essayli, who wrote on X, “These incidents would be less common if the targets complied with lawful commands. You’re intentionally fanning the flames and increasing danger for the community and officers.”
