Hailee Steinfeld has revealed the name of her and husband Josh Allen’s baby girl in a heartfelt letter dedicated to her daughter.
Steinfeld, 29, addressed the letter to Harper, sharing her bundle of joy’s moniker for the first time in her Friday, June 19, Beau Society newsletter and Substack.
The actress revealed her full name as Harper Haize Allen.
“Dearest Harper, I’m in awe of you,” Steinfeld began her letter. “You’ve been here for only a short while now, and somehow it feels as though you’ve always been ours.”
Steinfeld, who married Allen, 30, in May 2025, noted that precious moments like Harper sleeping “soundly on my chest” make her look at her little one and “wonder how you’re real.”
The Pitch Perfect 3 star described the past few months of her life as “beautiful and exhausting,” noting that every minute spent together is “sacred and so special” after becoming a first-time parent. (Steinfeld announced in April that she had recently given birth to her daughter.)

“Your daddy and I look at you often and ask each other the same question: How did we get so lucky to have you?” Steinfeld continued, referring to the Buffalo Bills quarterback. “You, whose tiny fingers already wrap around mine with a trust I pray I never take for granted. You, whose dad is officially outnumbered when it comes to choosing a movie for movie night, though I suspect he’ll secretly love every minute of it.”
The Oscar nominee revealed that she’s trying “not to blink” and to cherish every milestone along the way.

“I want your baby hair to stay this soft forever, but I long for the day you might ask me to braid it down your back while we’re sitting in the grass,” Steinfeld wrote. “I could tear up at the thought of your tiny toes getting bigger, but I know that someday your big-girl feet will carry you through this big world.”
Steinfeld admitted that she used to think motherhood was “about raising a child,” but she has since realized that it’s about “allowing yourself to become someone new over and over again.”

The Sinners star explained that after Harper’s arrival, she has been able to meet “a different version of myself” every day.
“A softer version. A stronger version. A more patient and present version,” Steinfeld continued. “A version that loves everything and everyone — including myself — more deeply than she ever knew possible.”

Steinfeld gushed about the “tiny, precious” moments she’s experienced so far with her baby girl, like her “milk-drunk smiles.”
She described motherhood as the realization of having her heart “somehow living outside my body” as she watches her child grow.
“And even though I know I am meant to guide you through this life, Harper Haize Allen, the truth is that already, you have taught me far more than I could ever teach you,” Steinfeld concluded. “One day you’ll read this and know that to be true, my sweet girl.”
