A brush fire in the San Bernardino National Forest near Yucaipa prompted an evacuation warning for a nearby community, authorities said.
A brush fire in the San Bernardino National Forest near Yucaipa prompted an evacuation warning Monday evening, authorities said.
The Green Fire started around 5:42 p.m. and has burned about 33 acres. The fire was burning on a mountainside near the Thurman Flats Picnic Area along Highway 38, according to Cal Fire.
Multiple agencies responded to the fire, including Cal Fire and San Bernardino County firefighters.
An evacuation warning was issued for areas of Mountain Home Village. Officials urged people who may need extra time to evacuate to leave immediately, along with anyone who has pets or livestock.
Authorities were establishing road closures between Bryant Street and Forest Falls as crews worked to contain the blaze.
It’s unknown what caused the fire.
