As summer temperatures start soaring across California, a new ranking is giving ice cream lovers plenty of excuses to cool off.

Yelp has released its list of the 50 most-saved ice cream shops in America — and the Golden State dominated the competition, claiming four of the top five spots.

The food review platform analyzed user bookmarks and rating data to come up with the list, which finds San Francisco creamery Mitchell’s Ice Cream at the top.

The Mission District shop which was founded in 1953 has over 3,400 5-star reviews and over 1,000 4-star reviews.

Their official website reveals their hand-crafted “super-premium” is made with “16% butterfat,” which is what makes their ice cream stand apart from the frozen pack.

A pair of Los Angeles ice cream shops took third and fourth place on the list, behind New York City’s Soft Swerve in second place.

LA’s Mashti Malone’s and Busman’s Organic Milk Bar were followed by Meadowlark Dairy in the Northern California enclave of Pleasanton to round out the top five.

Mashti Malone’s has over 1,000 five-star reviews and more than 400 four-star reviews, with three locations in the greater Los Angeles area (Westwood, Hollywood and Silver Lake).
