What Brandi Glanville Has Said About Her Facial Disfigurement: Treatments, Teeth and Diagnosis

Brandi Glanville has had a difficult two years due dealing with a mysterious medical condition that has caused facial disfigurement.

In July 2024, Glanville first opened up about her health issues, noting that she wanted to sue Bravo because of it.

“This stress has ruined my health. I have uncontrollable stress induced angio-edema I haven’t worked for a year … to [sic] depressed to do my podcast,” she wrote via X, noting that she was “to [sic] swollen 4cameo or OF [Only Fans].” (According to the Mayo Clinic, stress induced angioedema causes swelling in the deeper layers of the skin, often around the eyes, lips or cheeks.)

Nearly five months later, the RHOBH alum took to social media to share a selfie of her skin issue, which she admitted was a mystery to her and even her doctors.

“I wish I knew I’ve been in &out of the hospital this passed [sic] year ½ spent almost every dollar I have trying to figure it out,” she wrote via X. “Some Dr.’s say I have a parasite that jumps around my face. Some say it’s stress-induced edema. I personally say it’s Bravo.”

Admits She Spent $70K to Cure Face Parasites

Glanville confessed that she had spent around $70,000 attempting to fix the issue, which she claimed doctors believed to be caused by facial parasites.

“Honestly, I have so many doctors and I’ve had so many tests … I did lab work for $10,000,” she told Entertainment Tonight in December 2024. “I ran every test under the sun…. They’re like, ‘It could be a parasite.’ That’s, you know, new.”

The reality star noted that she had “been on meds this whole year” and doesn’t socialize or “go out.”

“I’m just spending all my money on trying to figure out what’s wrong with me,” she explained to the outlet, adding that her financial situation has been “stressful” as she’s been unable to work for the past two years.

What She Believes Caused the Potential Parasite

Glanville doesn’t know how she contracted the possible parasite, but she believes it might have happened while she was in Morocco filming The Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip.

“We had food sitting out for hours on end and some of it was meat. In Morocco,” she told ET in December 2024. “Six months after I got back from Morocco, I started having this speaking thing and the swelling up thing, it started in July and we’re still here trying to figure it out.”

Describes Feeling Parasite ‘Moving Around’ in Her Face

“Whenever I get the chills, it’s generally an infection,” Glanville told Page Six’s “Virtual Reali-Tea” in December 2024. “Then I start having the ticking in my ear, and then whatever’s in my face, moving around, started moving around again. And it starts sinking in again.”

While Glanville doesn’t know if it’s actually a parasite, she noted that she prefers her face “when it’s a little swollen” because the “sinking in thing” is “killing” her as she thinks it makes her “look like a crackhead.”

How It Has Affected Her Dating and Social Life

Glanville shared she hadn’t been intimate with anyone in over a year because of her face.

“I have s— to do. I have places to go, people to make out with. I have not had sex since last October,” she said on her “Brandi Glanville Unfiltered” podcast in December 2024. “I haven’t kissed [or] made out with anyone. I haven’t socialized, really.”

The Bravo personality went on to admit that after she shared her condition publicly it helped her get back out there socially.

“As soon as I shared it, I felt this giant pressure off of me to not hide anymore,” she explained. “I was hiding and isolating and in f—ing misery, not wanting to share what was going on with anyone and not wanting to see anyone, for sure, 100 percent.”

How Her Mental Health Has Been Impacted

Glanville admitted that she’s tired of “faking” like everything is OK because she is “f—ing miserable.”

“My best friend’s been in the ICU for 2 weeks & isn’t getting better. My face is worse than ever,” she wrote in a post shared via X in March 2025. “It’s literally melted away. When drs at cedars put me on IV antibiotics & fungal medication I was getting better I looked normal but I couldn’t afford to stay on them. I was forced to see drs outside my insurance because the drs at Kaiser had no clue.”

Shares Disfigurement Has Affected Her Teeth

“I have painful lumps 1 in jaw bone area 1 on side of neck & 1 in back of neck,” she wrote via X in March 2025. “I have chills & a constant oily fowl [sic] tasting drainage from face into mouth[.] it’s acidic & is eating away at my teeth plus all of my lymph nodes in head & neck are swollen. Drs at Kaiser say I’m fine :/ HELP ME.”

Her Flare-Ups

Glanville shared a story from the Daily Mail via X that said her facial disfigurement appeared to be improving. She quoted the post to explain her flare-ups.

“I have good days and I also have bad days where I get pretty bad flare ups,” she wrote above the April 7 story. “It’s an ongoing battle 🙏”

‘Still Something Wrong’

Glanville spoke with the Daily Mail in April 2025, and offered an update on her continued health battle.

“There’s something wrong in my body. I don’t know what it is and that’s scary,” she said. “I need an answer. I need to get to the bottom of it because I don’t want to not wake up one day.”

Glanville told the publication that “even if it’s the worst answer in the world,” she wants to know what’s going on within her body.

“I literally want to get a scalpel and cut my face open,” she added. “It’s just frustrating.”

Glanville has spent “almost” all of her money getting answers.

Finally Feeling Hopeful

Glanville gave a shoutout to one of her doctors via X in July 2025, revealing that she was “finally getting answers” about her health issues.

“I am so thankful to my NYC angel @DrScomaME_CFS for actually wanting to help me get better,” she wrote. “Can’t wait to live again (fix teeth, put on 10lbs, & make out with a hot boy or girl) I cannot wait to get out of this house & LIVE.”

Nair Treatment Gone Wrong

Glanville attempted to treat her facial parasite with the hair removal cream Nair, but she seemingly ended up with severe chemical burns on her cheeks and chin, as seen in an August 2025 TikTok video.

“I know I look attractive,” she said, showing off her red, blotchy, damaged skin. “So, good news, you guys don’t have to spend a lot of money on peels and lasers anymore.”

Glanville said she decided to try Nair because she realized that exfoliating her skin “pisses off” the parasite in her face.

“Nair is the fountain of youth. I figured it out, but I overdid it,” Glanville added. “Seven minutes. Don’t do it.”

In the caption, Glanville told fans to do a “test patch” before applying Nair to their entire face.

“I’m on fire sooooioko [sic] don’t to 7 minutes it also burned the loose skin off my arms & its 7 dollars,” she concluded. “Mix up some aloe vera, cucumber and black tea put it in the freezer put it in the spray bottle and once it’s cold enough spray all day cause I’m in some pain.”

She Officially Received a Diagnosis

On December 5, 2025, Glanville told TMZ that she’s officially received a diagnosis for her condition, though she did not reveal exactly what caused her affliction.

The reality TV star told the outlet that her “mother started bawling” with relief when she revealed the cause of her facial disfigurement.
