Women, you need to check your man’s phone.
Not because he’s sneaking around on Instagram, but because there’s a decent chance he has a secret manual dedicated entirely to you.
While you’re doomscrolling before bed, he’s tucked away in his Notes app, logging your favorite snack, your shoe size, and what you like to order when you’re hungover and can’t decide.
The viral reel
Social media creator Jessica Kirk has shared an unexpectedly wholesome secret that’s gone viral on Instagram – the fact that some men are quietly keeping detailed Notes app files on the women they’re dating.
Kirk shared a post asking whether guys really do this – and then the evidence began rolling in.
One by one, men replied with screenshots of their Notes apps filled with multi-line lists, subheadings, and even ‘last updated’ timestamps to make sure they’re on top of the latest developments.
Inside the Notes app trend
In one screenshot, a man has used the ‘About’ section of his girlfriend’s phone contact profile as a cheat sheet.
Under the heading, ‘About Raven’, he logged everything from her favorite flowers (lilies, roses and tulips) to the fact that she doesn’t like chocolate, but likes white chocolate, and that her favourite restaurant is Benihaha.
He even recorded that she reads over two books a month.
Another guy called his document ‘Maia 101’ and included her favorite foods, date night ideas, clothing preferences, sizes and brands, as well as “things that represent how she receives love”.
It’s essentially a manual on how to keep his wife feeling seen, fed and spoiled, and he admits he’s “still adding stuff to it” even though they’re already married.
Another guy’s note section is called ‘Facts about her’ and includes his girlfriend’s favourite colours, what clothes she looks good in, and lists the types of dates she likes, like “picnics, dance, candle lit”.
Another man even put his girlfriend’s ring size and preference (6.5 ring, gold band, solitaire, pear-shaped and emerald diamond), her favourite artist, her allergies, her child’s sport preferences, and her dream holiday destination.
It’s the level of detail typically women remember – the oddly specific cravings or the throwaway preferences – that make their partners feel seen.
Except here, the guys are the ones compiling the lists, which is why the video has blown up.
People lost it in the comments
One person wrote in the comments, “I want a clap for the man who has period snacks in his notes”.
Someone else warned, “If we’re not paying attention, someone else is”.
“Adding this to my ‘good men exist’ list for proof,” a third wrote.
Others were simply stunned, with one asking: “OMG, men do this?”
And finally, someone wrote: “I love it, study your woman like she’s your favourite subject”.
