Todd and Julie Chrisley offered a major update on 13-year-old daughter Chloe Chrisley following their prison release.
“I think it’s taken us a little time to get back into our groove, our rhythm of everyday life,” Julie, 53, explained during the Wednesday, January 14, episode of their “Chrisley Confessions 2.0” podcast. “We came back home to different situations with all the kids. Everything is different. I think it’s just trying to get back into that rhythm, because it’s really just me, you and Chloe on an everyday basis.”
The couple told listeners that Chloe has a “teenage personality” that’s been coming out more since their May 2025 release from prison.
“She has such a huge personality. Her personality is coming out more every day,” Todd, 56, said. “You know what she said to me that day? She said, ‘Girl, don’t try me.’”
Chloe is the biological daughter of Todd’s eldest son, Kyle Chrisley, and his ex Angela Johnson. Todd and Julie officially adopted Chloe one month before they reported to prison in 2023. The Chrisleys: Back to Reality docuseries, which aired on Lifetime in September 2025, showed Chloe struggling to acclimate to a new normal with sister Savannah Chrisley as her guardian while Todd and Julie were away.
“Your attitude is not very becoming,” Savannah, 28, told Chloe during the docuseries’ premiere episode. Chloe hit back, refusing to “act like life is normal” while she was being filmed — and with her parents in prison.
“We have to make the best out of a really crappy situation, OK?” Savannah replied.

Chloe Gives Todd and Julie ‘Lip’
Todd noted that there is a “fear for life” when Chloe gives him “lip” vs. when she has an attitude with Julie. “She’s gotten lippy because she’s 13 now,” he added.

Chloe’s Hair and Makeup Changes
During Wednesday’s podcast episode, Todd said Chloe is “into this whole straightening the hair and blowing it out,” which he is not into.
Julie, meanwhile, told Todd they need to “pick our battles” — and Chloe straightening her hair is not one of them. However, her wanting to do black eyeliner is an argument he chose to have.
“I said, ‘Let me tell you something. You come out of there with a cat eye at 13. I’ll dot the other eye,’” he explained. “I said, ‘You’re not painting on no — whatever the stuff is — eyeliner.’”
Julie said she recruited Savannah to help get Chloe new makeup — which cost $750. “We’re starting to delve into that world,” Julie added.
How Todd and Chloe’s Relationship Has Evolved
Todd explained that they have “a great banter back and forth,” even when Chloe isn’t doing something that Todd asked. The father and daughter spent time together over the New Year’s holiday when Julie took their youngest son, Grayson Chrisley, to watch his school, the University of Alabama, play in the Rose Bowl.
“She is such a funny kid. She’s got a good personality,” Todd added. “I love her, and I’ve got a great relationship with her.”
