LOS ANGELES () — A woman has filed a lawsuit accusing Los Angeles Rams wide receiver Puka Nacua of assault and battery, alleging he bit her during a New Year’s Eve outing in Century City.

According to the complaint, the woman says she was invited to a group dinner and later joined others, including Nacua, in a Sprinter van.

Inside the vehicle, she alleges Nacua bit her shoulder, leaving what she described as an imprint of his teeth. She also claims he bit her friend’s thumb during the same incident.

The lawsuit further accuses Nacua of making an antisemitic comment that night.

Nacua’s attorney disputed that claim, telling 7 the allegation that Nacua made any comment against Jewish people is a “blatant lie” backed up by sober witnesses.

He said Nacua had never seen the woman before the night of the alleged incident and has not seen her since.

Beyond denying the accusations, Nacua’s attorney characterized the lawsuit as blackmail.

“Puka denies these allegations in the strongest possible terms. We will be filing a defamation lawsuit and pursuing all available legal remedies in response to these false and damaging statements,” he said in a statement.

The case remains pending.

Nacua has been one of the most productive receivers in NFL history over his first three seasons with the Rams, who drafted him out of BYU in 2023 with the final pick of the fifth round. He led the league with 129 catches last season while racking up 1,715 yards and 10 touchdowns before leading the NFL again with 24 catches for 332 yards and two TDs in the playoffs.

Nacua is eligible to sign a contract extension with the Rams this offseason that undoubtedly would make him one of the highest-paid receivers in NFL history, but the Rams haven’t announced any progress on a new deal.
