A Philadelphia man now charged with murder has been accused of being responsible for the horrific death of his girlfriend’s toddler daughter, Us Weekly has learned.

The tragic incident unfolded on December 8. An emergency was reported inside a home in the city’s Fairmount neighborhood, and when police arrived, they found an unresponsive Key’Monnie Bean-Walls, 2, on the floor of the basement.

According to prosecutors, she was hoisted onto her bed, and officers tried reviving Bean-Walls using CPR but couldn’t. Bean-Walls was rushed to Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia where she was pronounced dead soon after being turned over to ER doctors.

Assistant District Attorney Ashley Toczylowski stated that Bean-Walls showed signs she was severely beaten, perhaps with objects.

The little girl, investigators have since alleged, died because of the savage beating Sean Hernandez, 21, delivered. He has been dating Bean-Walls’ mother, Jeanette Walls, cops said.

Hernandez, who also responds to Raafi Gorham, is now under arrest for murder, endangering the welfare of a child, and weapons possession.

District Attorney Larry Krasner told reporters on Thursday, December 18, that the little girl’s murder is “a tremendous loss.” Krasner said that it further appeared the child’s airway may have been compromised during the attack, possibly indicating she was also suffocated.

Krasner said that Philadelphians “should be outraged about what happened to this 2-year-old.”

According to Toczylowski, Bean-Walls had a number of old wounds that had already healed on their own, suggesting she may have been subjected to previous abuse.

Two other people — Anthony Lowrie, 21, and Alycia McNeill, 20 — were arrested on Wednesday and accused of obstruction of justice and unsworn falsification in the case. More details on the allegations against them were unavailable Friday, December 19.

Prosecutors allege the victim’s mother was home during the alleged beating but has not been charged with a crime.

A GoFundMe Page has been set up by Bean-Walls’ father to offset some of the toddler’s funeral expenses. In the description of the fundraiser, the father shared his grief and remembered his daughter.

“Her loss has shattered our family,” Tashaun Walls wrote on the GoFundMe page. “Key’Monnie was full of love and joy — our sunshine — deeply loved by everyone who knew her. As a parent, this is something I never imagined or prepared for, and I am struggling to cover the costs of giving her a proper burial and goodbye.”

The funds raised “will go directly toward her burial and funeral expenses, including the casket, burial plot, funeral home services, and related costs. Any amount, no matter how small, truly helps and will bring us one step closer to laying her to rest with the dignity and love she deserves. If you are unable to give, sharing this fundraiser and keeping our family in your prayers means more than you know. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for your compassion, support, and love during the most painful time of our lives.”

Hernandez has yet to enter pleas to his charges and remains in jail awaiting a January 5, 2026, court appearance.
