Pamela Anderson is weighing in after missing out on an Oscar nomination.

The actress, 57, received acclaim for her performance in The Last Showgirl. Still, she was absent from the Best Actress in a Leading Role category when nominations for the 97th Academy Awards were announced on Thursday, January 23.

According to Anderson, the snub wasn’t much of a surprise.

“Oh my gosh, it’s not something I ever expected. Doing the work is the win,” she told Elle.com after the nominations were announced Thursday. “That’s what I like to do, and I think we can lose sight of that sometimes in this whole crazy awards season, but it’s nice to be recognized, and it’s all a bonus.”

Baywatch icon Anderson has received career-best reviews for her role as Shelly, an aging Las Vegas showgirl, in the Gia Coppola-directed movie.

In October 2024, the actress exclusively told Us Weekly that she considered the movie the true beginning of her acting career.

“This is the beginning of my career,” Anderson told Us at the 2024 Glamour Women of the Year Awards. “I have a lot to do yet.”
