Pakistan Election Result Updates
The first formal meeting between Bilawal Bhutto Zardari’s PPP and PML-N has taken place as both parties try to come on the same page to form a coalition. Bhutto-Zardari met with a delegation led by former pm Shehbaz Sharif at the Bilawal House in Lahore.
As political parties try to form coalitions, Imran Khan’s PTI have alleged rigging in the general elections. PTI workers took to the streets to allege vote rigging, which resulted in the shutdown of the ECP’s office.
As per sources – the Pakistan Peoples Party have been pushing for Bhutto-Zardari as the next PM in the coalition government with Nawaz Sharif’s PML. If Bhutto Zardari is elected as PM, he will become the youngest PM of Pakistan.
If a PPP-PML-N coalition succeeds, it would be the second time these parties constituted the national assembly. A coalition of PPP and PML-N had been governing Pakistan, following Imran Khan’s ouster in April 2022.
