One of the women accusing Nick Carter of sexual assault is demanding the pop star pay her a seven-figure judgment to settle, Us Weekly can exclusively report.

On Friday, December 12, accuser Laura Penly filed court docs offering to drop her lawsuit against Carter, 45, in exchange for $1 million.

Carter’s lawyers, Liane K. Wakayama and Dale Hayes, Jr., tell Us, “What has happened here is not only unethical but also a clear violation of the law. The truth is this: after her plot to peddle false allegations for a payday was foiled by Nick’s unwillingness to give in to her attempted shakedown, Ms. Penly has now had her legal team demand a one-million-dollar payment in exchange for dropping her case. ”

“To be clear, Nick has absolutely no interest in paying a dime to this individual. Instead, he is eager to fight to reveal the truth behind her scheme and looks forward to exposing the falsity of her outrageous claims in court,” Carter’s legal team added.

Carter adamantly denied Penly’s claims when she filed her suit.

In the complaint, Penly claimed that she met Carter in 2004 when she was 19. She alleged that she had a sexually intimate relationship with the Backstreet Boys star from December 2004 to February 2005.

She said they had sex three times during the timeframe. Penly claimed she asked Carter to wear a condom, but he refused and led her to believe he was free of sexually transmitted diseases.

She said the singer engaged in a sexual act without her consent. Penly said that he also failed to wear a condom. “Carter instructed [Penly] to keep his sexual assault of her a secret and that nobody would believe her,” Penly’s lawyer wrote.

Penly claimed Carter apologized but then sexually assaulted her again two months later.

Penly’s lawyer claimed the pop star infected his client with “various sexually transmitted diseases, including the human papillomavirus (commonly known as HPV), a sexually transmitted infection known to cause health problems such as cervical cancer.”

In 2005, Penly was “informed that she tested positive for Chlamydia and Gonorrhea.”

Her lawsuit demanded damages for the impacts of Carter’s “sexual assaults,” which allegedly caused “severe emotional distress, physical anguish, medical issues, intimacy issues, and other complex trauma.”

Carter’s lawyers issued a statement in which they denied the accusations in Penly’s lawsuit.

“This is just more of the same nonsense from the gang of conspirators and their lawyers who continue to abuse the justice system to try to ruin Nick Carter,” the pop star’s legal team said. “It’s drawn from the same predictable playbook – lie in wait for decades until Mr. Carter is celebrating a professional milestone, then hide behind litigation privilege to make utterly false claims in an attempt to inflict maximum damage on Nick and his family.”

As Us previously reported, Carter is in the middle of a legal battle with several accusers.

The legal drama started when a woman named Shannon Ruth filed a lawsuit against Carter over an alleged 2001 sexual assault. Carter denied the claims.

The singer filed a countersuit against Ruth and another woman who accused him of sexual assault, Melissa Schuman. (Schuman sued Carter, claiming he assaulted her in 2002. He denied the claims.) In his complaint, Carter claimed Ruth conspired with Schuman and Schuman’s father, Jerome Schuman, to spread lies about him in an attempt to secure a financial settlement. The accusers and Jerome denied the accusations.
