The final days of 2025 have seen the Christmas movie lineup on Netflix give way to a more eclectic group of films.

We suspect that even Netflix may be surprised by its current hit movies, especially since a few of them barely saw the inside of a theater.

To close out the year, Watch With Us has selected three of Netflix’s most popular movies that you need to watch now.

Our picks include a romantic comedy with a real-life couple, a horror flick and an animated masterpiece.

‘The Best You Can’ (2025)

THE BEST YOU CAN – Official Trailer (HD)

We can’t help but notice that Kyra Sedgwick‘s little-seen rom-com The Best You Can is one of Netflix’s top-charting movies at the same time that her drama series The Closer is ranking high on the streamer’s TV list as well. This film also marks the first time in two decades that Sedgwick has appeared in the same film as her real-life husband, Kevin Bacon.

Sedgwick plays Cynthia Rand, a woman whose older husband, Warren Rand (Judd Hirsch), is rapidly succumbing to the ravages of dementia. Bacon portrays Stan Olszewski, a security guard who saves Cynthia from a robbery. From there, they strike up a friendship that increasingly pushes the limits of a platonic connection towards something more inherently intimate. However, Cynthia and Stan both have obligations to the people in their lives that may prevent them from finding love with each other.

‘The Girl Who Got Away’ (2021)

The Girl Who Got Away is a horror thriller that was dropped as a VOD release in 2021, and it was doomed to obscurity before it inexplicably hit No. 2 on Netflix’s most popular movie chart. Lexi Johnson stars as Christina Bowden, a woman who endured an unspeakable nightmare at the hands of a serial killer, Elizabeth Caulfield (Kaye Tuckerman). Christina was Elizabeth’s only victim who survived, and she’s spent years rebuilding her life.

Just as Christina prepares to adopt a teenager named Lisa (Willow McCarthy), Elizabeth stages a bloody escape from prison. Jamie Nwosu (Chukwudi Iwuji) is the police officer assigned to protect Christina from any reprisal from Elizabeth. But as people in Christina’s orbit wind up dead, Jamie is forced to question if the woman he’s protecting is also a killer.

‘Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse’ (2018)

Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse is an Oscar-winner for Best Animated Picture, and it doesn’t take long to show you why. The comic-book stylized computer animation is beautifully rendered and often visually stunning, and the story is engrossing without getting bogged down in multiverse absurdity. This film also formally introduces Miles Morales (Shameik Moore) to the big screen as an accidental Spider-Man who witnesses the death of his predecessor, Peter Parker (Chris Pine).

As Miles attempts to figure out how to use his newfound powers, he’s joined by a pair of exiles from alternate Earths: An older Peter Parker (Jake Johnson) and Spider-Woman/Gwen Stacy (Hailee Steinfeld). Miles has a lot to learn about being a hero, and he doesn’t have much time to get it right. If this team of Spider-heroes can’t stop Wilson Fisk (Liev Schreiber) from opening a rift to the multiverse, then this world and every other version of Earth may be destroyed in the process.
