Motörhead guitarist Phil Campbell dies at 64, current band Phil Campbell and the Bastard Sons announces

Motörhead guitarist Phil Campbell has died at the age of 64.

Campbell’s current band with his children — Phil Campbell and the Bastard Sons — announced his death on their Instagram page on Saturday.

His children say he passed away peacefully on Friday night, following “a long and courageous battle in intensive care after a complex major operation.”

Campbell joined Motörhead in 1984 and stayed with the rock group until it disbanded in 2015, following the death of frontman Lemmy.

English rock band Motörhead is best known for songs such as “Ace Of Spades,” “Overkill” and “Killed By Death.”
