Meryl Streep is gearing up for The Devil Wears Prada 2 to premiere.

Anne Hathaway brought back a certain famous sweater from The Devil Wears Prada. Hathaway, 42, took to TikTok on Monday, July 21, to revive a nearly identical blue sweater as the cerulean knit her character, Andrea “Andy” Sachs, wore while being corrected by Miranda Priestly (Meryl Streep) in the 2006 movie. In the clip, Hathaway […]

“At the beginning of the film, all of the media outlets are under siege by our new digital overlords,” she continued. “So she’s out of a job … and circumstances lead her to this moment where she comes back to Runway [magazine]. I [Miranda Priestly] was not aware that she had been hired.”

For the uninformed, Streep’s blue sweater is so iconic because of a conversation between Miranda and Andy in the first movie, which debuted in 2006.

At the time, Runway editors were debating over Andy’s outfit accessories.

“You think this has nothing to do with you,” Miranda said while scanning Andy’s outfit. “You go to your closet and you select, I don’t know, that lumpy blue sweater, for instance, because you’re trying to tell the world that you take yourself too seriously to care about what you put on your back, but what you don’t know is that that sweater is not just blue, it’s not turquoise, it’s not lapis, it’s actually cerulean.”

In July 2025, Hathaway also revived the iconic color while filming the sequel. At the time, she took to TikTok in a nearly identical sweater that Andy wore in the original film. She jumped into the frame while brushing her teeth. She gave the camera a soft smile and pushed her brunette hair to one side of her head and went makeup-free.
