FULLERTON, Calif. () — An investigation is underway after a man was found dead on a road in Fullerton overnight.

The incident unfolded in the area of Euclid Street and Baker Avenue just before 9 p.m. Sunday, according to the Fullerton Police Department. Officers arrived to find the victim with multiple stab wounds. He was declared dead at the scene, police said.

Police were still working at the scene into Monday morning, as seen in AIR7 video.

Witnesses who called police reported seeing a man being stabbed and possibly run over.

Officers were able to put out a suspect description, and according to a press release, a short time later, police in Buena Park responded to a report of a hit-and-run accident. A suspect was located and detained, police said.

Detectives say the suspect in the Buena Park hit-and-run was also the suspect in the Fullerton stabbing.

Police identified the suspect as Francisco Soriano Jr., a 27-year-old resident of Fullerton. He has booked into the Fullerton Police Department Jail for murder.

The identity of the stabbing victim has not been released.
