Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher Alex Vesia and his wife, Kayla Vesia, were supported by his MLB teammates in the weeks after their newborn daughter’s death.

“Having all the guys show up in matching pjs,” Kayla, 29, wrote over a Saturday, January 4, TikTok video, where Alex, also 29, was floored on Christmas morning as his peers each wore matching pairs of navy flannel pajama sets.

In the newly shared footage, Alex could be heard shouting, “I freaking knew it” once he realized all of the Dodgers athletes were dressed alike. He added, “We’re all dressed in the same s***!”

Kayla captioned her post, “A good laugh 😂.”

Alex and Kayla announced in November 2025 that their baby daughter, Sterling Sol, “went to heaven.”

“There are no words to describe the pain we’re going through but we hold her in our hearts and cherish every second we had with her,” an Instagram statement read. “Thank you to the Dodgers for their understanding and support during this time. Our baseball family showed up for us and we wouldn’t be able to do this without them.”

While Alex and Kayla mourned their unexpected loss, he sat out the entirety of the Dodgers’ World Series championship tournament last fall. The L.A. team, who even wore Alex’s jersey number on their baseball caps in solidarity, ultimately beat the Toronto Blue Jays to take home the trophy.)

Kayla later returned to social media on Friday, January 3, sharing an update on how she and her husband were coping.

“Alex and I are trying to get through it everyday. Every day is so different for us, and I don’t really have the words,” Kayla said in an emotional TikTok video. “I share a lot of Alex and I’s life on here [and] it just felt right to come and say thank you. I am really grateful for the community of you guys just expressing your support and love for us. It really has brought us a lot of comfort during this.”

Kayla further shared how difficult it was to lose her child.

“Be prepared for everything, I was prepared for whatever was going to happen. I wasn’t prepared for not taking my baby home,” she tearfully said on Friday. “I don’t know what the [new] year is going to bring. I’ll slowly be getting back on here. Love you guys, and that’s about it for right now.”
