Like many before her—Taylor Swift, Lady Gaga, and The Beatles among them—Dua Lipa is a huge proponent of album dressing. The singer is trading in the slinky, sexy style of her Future Nostalgia period for a whole new look in honor of the next phase of her career—much of which is still under lock and key.
While promoting her forthcoming single, “Houdini,” in London, Lipa stopped by Global Radio Studios in an outfit fit for a pop star. She dressed up a simple black T-shirt and light wash jeans with an oversized white furry coat. She also matched her accessories, coordinating her bordeaux Bottega Veneta pouch with her oxblood colored pointy-toed alligator boots. Her accessory choices harmonized perfectly with her new hair, a burgundy hue, which she wore in loose waves with micro braids interspersed throughout.
The Grammy winner is already dropping hints about what the next piece in her oeuvre will sound like, posting a clip of her new song as well as pictures with Tame Impala’s Kevin Parker, Tobias Jesso Jr., and longtime songwriter Caroline Ailin. But it’s still a bit early to tell what this new era of Dua Lipa’s career will offer, style-wise. Yesterday, the singer promoted “Houdini” in London, mixing a leather trench and knee-high Versace stiletto boots with a blue rugby polo. On Instagram, she teased fans with a photo of her in red tights with white briefs layered on top and a pair of white slingback heels. So, while we may not be certain of what she has to offer in the fashion department, we’re excited to see what’s next for Dua Lipa.
