Kim Kardashian’s longtime BFF Allison Statter had a hair-raising situation on her birthday — and Kardashian captured the whole thing.
The Skims cofounder, 45, shared several photos and videos to her Instagram Stories on Sunday, January 11, documenting Statter’s birthday celebrations as she turned 46.
In one video, Statter was seen blowing out the candles on her birthday cake when one of the candles accidentally set her hair alight. Thankfully, another person in the video quickly noticed what was happening and put out the blaze before it could do any major damage. In the video, Statter appeared surprised, but then laughed off the incident.
“You are on fire baby!!!!” Kardashian wrote over the video.

Kardashian and Statter have been friends since childhood. Statter’s mom, Shelli Azoff, is a close friend of Kardashian-Jenner matriarch Kris Jenner.
Back in 2016, Statter celebrated Kardashian’s 36th birthday by sharing pictures from the reality television star’s Sweet 16th 20 years earlier. At the time, she posted several snaps, including a photo of the moment Kardashian received her first set of wheels — a BMW — courtesy of her late father, Robert Kardashian.
“Aunt Kris and Uncle Robert hosted a really nice lunch for Kim with all of her friends and family at a popular Italian restaurant called Cicada,” Statter wrote in a post for Kardashian’s now-defunct website KimKardashianWest.com. “We would all do our Sweet 16s at Cicada! How cool that Kim is wearing a vintage slip dress, LOL!”
“Kim was always a tad bit younger than us, with her birthday being in October, so we were all ready for her to turn 16 so we didn’t have to drive her everywhere anymore!” Statter reminisced. “Kim didn’t think she was getting a car because her dad had convinced her she didn’t need her own car at 16, so when Kim walked outside after lunch to her new white BMW in the parking lot, she was SO surprised!!!”
In the decade-old post, Statter also recalled her long-lasting bond with the All’s Fair actress.
“As Kim and I have grown up together and gone through some life milestones — like getting our first jobs, moving into our first apartments, getting married and having babies — it’s nice to look back at all of our memories together,” she wrote. “Her 16th birthday will always be a special memory because it was at a time in our lives where we didn’t have as much responsibility. We enjoyed every moment of being 16 together!”
Four years on, Kardashian and Statter collaborated on a makeup collection for Kardashian’s former beauty brand KKW Beauty, which later became Skkn by Kim.
“Collaborating with my best friend was a lot of fun,” said Kardashian in a 2020 press statement announcing the KKW x Allison collection. “We had a lot of laughs looking through old photos and discussing how our makeup routines have evolved over the years.”
Statter added, “We had so much fun reminiscing on our special childhood memories while creating a set of products that encapsulated our lives now: busy, working women and moms on-the-go, who want makeup that is easy to apply and that looks effortless and beautiful at the same time. I am incredibly humbled and honored that Kim asked me to do this with her and I hope everyone loves it as much as I do.”
