Kate McKinnon, Rashida Jones and Daveed Diggs star in Searchlight Pictures’ new movie, “In the Blink of an Eye.” The film covers three different storylines spanning thousands of years, each journey reflecting human connections and the circle of life.
While chatting with On The Red Carpet at the 2026 Sundance Film Festival, McKinnon who plays Coakley in the future, shared that she wants audiences to “feel hopeful about humanity and the future.”
Diggs who plays Greg from the present day, echoed his co-star’s sentiments, “I do hope that it gives people a little bit of a hopeful feeling about humanity. We’re in a time of kind of desolate times in a lot of ways. And, I think this film does a really good job of pointing out what a miracle being human is. Pointing out how precious things like falling in love are. I think it’s a really important time to sort of double down on those ideas to be like, ‘Oh, we do need to cherish this a little more. Maybe we need to take the preciousness of these miracles a little more seriously.'”
