Israel-Hamas War: IDF Rescues Gaza Hostages Fernando Marman and Louis Har
Rafah: The Israeli Defence Forces have recused two hostages from Gaza. Amid their offensive in the last refuge city, IDF recused two Argentine citizens – Fernando Marman and Louis Har.
As per the Times of Israel, Fernando Marman, 61, was taken hostage from Kibbutz Nir Yitzhak on October 7, 2023. Marman was taken hostage aling with his sister Clara Marman, 62, her partner Har, 70, their other sister Gabriela Leimberg, 59, and Gabriela’s daughter, Mia Leimberg, 17.
Clara Marmana and the Leimbergs were released during the week-long truce between Israel and Hamas, leaving Fernando in Gaza. However, during the IDF’s operation, Marman was rescued as well.
Along with Marman, Louis Har, 70, was rescued by the IDF, Shin Bet and Israeli Police. War Cabinet Minister Benny Gantz has welcomed the rescue of the two hostages and congratulated Israeli forces on a successful mission.
Along with the rescue of the hostages, Gantz also mourned the death of two Israeli soldiers.
“Along with the great joy at the return home of Fernando [Marman] and Luis [Har], there is great sadness at the fall of Maj. Adi Eldor and Maj. Alon Kleinman as they fought for us. We will not stop working to return all 134 abductees home. We remember, and we continue,” stated Gantz.
The two hostages are citizens of Argentina. Their rescue has also been welcomed by the Argentine President Javier Milei.
“The Office of the President thanks the Israel Defense Forces, the Shin Bet and the Israel Police for having successfully completed the rescue of the Argentines Fernando Simon Marman and Louis Har,” the presidency stated on social media platform X.
