EAGLE ROCK, LOS ANGELES () — Since summer in SoCal came early, 7 is grabbing some barbecue this week.
Ribs, chicken, pulled pork sandwiches and brisket; you can dig into it all at Max City BBQ in Eagle Rock.
“I like to say our barbecue is the best barbecue in northeast L.A.,” chef and co-owner Jason McDonald said.
The meat is smoked for hours. The rubs and barbecue sauces all made in house, your choice of original or spicy.
Big plates come with smokin’ hot sides. Try the baked mac and cheese, potato salad and hushpuppies.
Baked beans and cornbread are fan faves, too.
And like any good barbecue, Max City got its start in a backyard.
More than a decade ago, Jason and his business partner began hosting pop-ups. That led to an in-home catering company.
In 2014, Max City BBQ on Eagle Rock Boulevard started its continual cookout in the community.
“Eagle Rock has been integral to our success,” McDonald said.
“The residents here have been really great to us as far as catering, supporting us, especially through COVID, because here we are still. So, we love Eagle Rock.”
Walk in and enjoy all day Happy Hour every Tuesday and Wednesday. Other specials are offered throughout the week.
Max City BBQ is at 4729 N. Eagle Rock Blvd, in Los Angeles.
