Exclusive | Rockette who went viral for her audition at 7 months pregnant reveals the story behind the video

The internet got a kick out of this.

Former Rockette Alina Silver posted a throwback video of her audition for the iconic dance company while seven and a half months pregnant — and it quickly went viral with a combined 11.7 million views on TikTok and Instagram.

Commenters marveled over her astounding accomplishment, calling her “super human,” “badass” and “an example of how awesome women are.”

“I am zero weeks pregnant and trip over my own two feet walking. Major legend status for being able to do that pregnant AND in heels,” one said.

The mom of three — who was a Rockette for 12 years — told The Post she’s been overwhelmed with all the support she’s received.

“I really didn’t expect that to take off,” Silver, 43, told The Post.

“It’s just women being like, ‘Wow, you go girl!’ And it’s been sweet to read the comments because as dancers, it’s just wired in us to be super determined, and I didn’t necessarily feel like that was brave, but now, to look back, I’m like, ‘Wow, I really did go for it.’”

The Nashville native, who now lives on the Upper West Side, shared the nearly 10-year-old clip after attending the opening night of this year’s “Christmas Spectacular” in November, where more than 500 former and current Rockettes were at Radio City Music Hall to celebrate the group’s 100th anniversary.

“I was just feeling extra nostalgic, just the emotion of seeing all these women that I haven’t seen and that I grew up with,” she said.

The now-famous video was given to her by the show’s director in 2016, when she made the bold decision to audition just a month and half before giving birth to her first child.

“She said to me, ‘I want you to show this to your daughter one day,’” Silver recalled.

Silver, who has been dancing since the age of 3, became a Rockette in 2005, and it was during the run of the 2015 “Christmas Spectacular,” that she got pregnant “because I knew that if I had the baby in August or July, that I could go back the next season,” she said.

Since Rockettes have to try out anew each year, she had to audition again at seven and a half months pregnant.

“It literally was a game day decision, but I knew if I wanted to be offered a contract, I had to show up,” she said.

With the encouragement of her husband, she decided to travel to Radio City for the May audition — and ended up landing the gig again.

“I have to tell you I have never felt more calm in an audition and I think it’s because I knew I had to be for my baby,” she said.

“And what was so beautiful about that audition was — you hear it in the video — the Rockettes cheering me on.”

Silver had her daughter, Amanda — now 9 and part of the pre-professional ballet school Manhattan Youth Ballet — on Aug. 1, 2016, and nine weeks later, was back rehearsing for the Christmas show.

“On that first day, I was like, ‘Whoa, I wasn’t expecting this to be this hard.’ And I was pumping [milk] on every break,” she said, laughing.

That season was her last with the Rockettes, since she knew she wanted to grow her family, which now includes two more children, Molly, 7, and Ving, 4.

Silver, who founded Tribe by Alina, “a fitness community centered on empowering women” through workouts, also reflected on that fact that her viral clip caught the attention of Jason’s Kelce wife, Kylie — who spoke about it on her “Not Gonna Lie” podcast.

Kelce was amazed over the height of Silver’s kick, “the fact that she made it seem as though it’s nothing” and how she brazenly sported grey pants.

“Wearing grey pants when you’re kicking that high, risky business. If you pee a little, everyone’s gonna know. It’s impressive,” Kelce gushed.

“Honestly, I think that maybe those gray leggings went more viral than I did,” Silver said, laughing.
