LOS ANGELES () — The former wife of a doctor killed in an ambush shooting outside his Woodland Hills clinic is among five people arrested in connection with his death.
Ahang Mirshojae, 53, was taken into custody Thursday on suspicion of murder in the death of Dr. Hamid Mirshojae, 61, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.
The doctor was ambushed and fatally shot after leaving his medical practice in the 5900 block of Topanga Canyon Boulevard on Aug. 23, the LAPD said.
Three other suspects – Evan Hardman, Sarallah Jawed, Ashley Rose Sweeting – have been formally charged in the case.
Hardman, 41, and Jawed, 26, are accused of carrying out the killing for financial gain. They’re also accused of assault with a deadly weapon in connection with an alleged baseball bat attack May 3 on Mirshojae.
A third defendant, Ashley Rose Sweeting, 40, of Reseda, was arrested Tuesday and pleaded not guilty Thursday to one count of being an accessory after the fact.
Meanwhile, LAPD investigators on Thursday raided a Calabasas home linked to Mirshojae’s ex-wife. AIR7 was above the scene and captured several officers going in and out of the home on Newcastle Lane.
The LAPD confirmed late Thursday that the ex-wife — whom they identified as Ahang Mirshojae — was arrested on suspicion of murder.
Another man, 46-year-old Shawn Randolph of Valley Village, was also arrested Thursday on suspicion of murder in connection with the case. No details were provided on their specific alleged roles in the killing. Both were being held without bail, pending word on criminal charges.
