PICO-ROBERTSON, LOS ANGELES () — A large group of about 40 juveniles on bicycles ransacked a 7-Eleven store Friday in the Pico-Robertson area, leaving residents shocked and the store in shambles.

According to the Los Angeles Police Department, the group raided the store near La Cienega and Olympic boulevards just before 7:30 p.m., stealing multiple items.

The suspects – who appeared to be teenagers – ran into the store and stole everything from chips, drinks and candy, all while the store clerk watched in stunned disbelief.

In a matter of seconds, they casually walked out with arms full of snacks. The incident was captured on video.

“It’s my neighborhood corner store, it would be nice if it was safe,” said Pico-Roberston resident John Scott. “Usually it is, but it’s always surprising.”

AIR7 captured the moment police apprehended at least one of the suspects about two miles away from the store.

Customers who saw video of the group going into the 7-Eleven were left shocked at how brazen they were at such a busy intersection.

“Cars passing by, it’s not like there’s nobody that can see them. Most of them in the videos weren’t even wearing masks. It was just idiotic, stupid and I’m sure a lot of them will get caught,” said resident Elan Saghian.

This isn’t the first time something like this has happened.

On Aug. 9, that same 7-Eleven store was ransacked by teenagers – and it was also caught on video. No arrests were made and it’s unclear if the group behind Friday’s raid was the same group involved in last month’s incident.

Police spent several hours looking at surveillance footage Friday evening. Those juveniles who didn’t get caught were likely captured by a camera from outside or inside the store.

Meanwhile, police said they received another report about juveniles ransacking the 7-Eleven at 1451 La Cienega Blvd. near Pico around 7:15 p.m. It’s unclear the same group was involved.

Anyone with information is urged to contact police.
