WOODLAND HILLS, Calif. () — Nothing says romance quite like French fine dining.

This Valentine’s week, forget Paris. The city of love is as close as Woodland Hills at Deux Bistro.

“All the neighbors are very welcoming, and everybody is very proud to have a restaurant here,” chef and co-owner Nicolas Fanucci said.

Deux Bistro is conveniently and coincidentally located in the French Quarter shopping center.

Guests can experience authentic French flavors crafted by Nicolas, who hails from Cannes, France.

He and his son Lucas opened shop here in the San Fernando Valley two years ago.

“It was super cool to hear that the community chose us,” Lucas said. “We obviously love what we are doing, and so people love it too, and we really appreciate that.”

The bestselling and arguably most iconic French dish on the menu is the steak frites, a seared Angus steak served medium rare with French fries.

The trout and the roasted chicken are fan favorites too, along with a French omelet cooked with garlic and herb cheese.

And even on scorching hot days in the Valley, many customers order bowls of French onion soup.

Plus, the crème brulée, croissants and baguettes are baked fresh daily.

“At the end of the day, this is a family bistro. We want you to come here with your kids on Sunday,” Lucas said. “You see people coming in and they’re neighbors, and they’ll get up and go say ‘hi’ to their neighbor quick and sit back down.”

The French hotspot also offers monthly cooking classes, which have become quite popular.

“We’ve really created a little community from knowing everybody around the neighborhood,” Nicolas said. “People come for celebration, for just checking on us. They always make sure they come by the kitchen to say ‘hi,’ and it’s a lot of fun.”

Deux Bistro is open six days a week and is closed on Mondays.

The restaurant is located at 20969 Ventura Blvd., Suite 14, in Woodland Hills.

Visit their website to view the restaurant’s hours and to make reservations. Walk-ins are also accepted.

With Valentine’s Day ahead, they said they have just a few remaining tables available for this weekend.
