Costco is launching a new program that aims to make IVF treatment more affordable for couples hoping to start a family.
The big-box retailer says a new partnership with health care platform Sesame and IVI RMA North America will allow members to buy certain fertility drugs at discounted prices.
Medications typically can cost thousands of dollars out of pocket, but Costco says the program could help cut the price by up to 80%.
Members get immediate access to Sesame fertility care coordination, diagnostic workups and a path to specialty treatment, according to a press release.
The World Health Organization estimates one in six people worldwide are affected by infertility.
