Christine Quinn’s estranged husband, Christian Richard, scored a big legal win amid their messy divorce.

Us Weekly can exclusively confirm that a Los Angeles court judge recently granted Richard, 44, mental health diversion in his criminal case. According to a source, Richard will have to attend therapy, do community labor and pay restitution over the next year. With positive progress reports, the misdemeanor case could be dismissed after a year, details of which are filed under seal.

Court documents filed in their divorce case and obtained by Us stated that Quinn, 35, was present at the hearing on September 24 and opposed the decision with an “emotional” victim impact statement urging the court to deny her ex’s request for mental health diversion. Quinn’s attorney filed paperwork one day later in their family law case that outlined a handful of alleged TRO violations against Richard.

Despite approving Richard’s request, the court has ordered him to stay away from Quinn under the current guidelines of the temporary restraining order. The next hearing in the case is set for January 28, 2025.

Quinn went on to accuse Richard of reaching out to her father and aunt on two separate occasions asking them to pass a message to her for “a simple, friendly conversation” that would “make a night and day difference,” according to court-filed messages. Quinn’s counsel claimed that within five minutes after the ruling on September 24, Quinn received a text from an unknown “burner” phone number with a message to “chill out.”

Quinn is not pursuing contempt charges at this time, according to the docs.

Quinn and Richard filed for restraining orders against one another following an alleged domestic violence incident in March. The Selling Sunset alum’s request was granted but Richard’s was denied in April.

Quinn and Richard’s marital issues made headlines when he was arrested and booked in March for assault with a deadly weapon. A temporary restraining order was put in place following the incident. Richard was taken into custody for a second time after violating the order when he returned to their home.

Richard subsequently filed for divorce from Quinn after two years of marriage, citing “irreconcilable differences” as the reason for their split. Richard also requested full legal and physical custody of their 2-year-old son, Christian, while allowing Quinn visitation.

Court documents obtained by Us in April stated that Quinn was seeking sole legal and physical custody because Richard’s “actions and behavior have put our son’s health and wellbeing at risk.” In the legal update last month, Quinn’s legal team accused Richard of directly contacting her through Instagram twice since July.

In a statement to Us, Quinn’s lawyer Jacqueline Sparagna said, “We hope Mr. Dumontet takes advantage of this opportunity to get the help he so clearly needs.”

Richard’s lawyer Alexandra Kazarian, meanwhile, would not comment on her client’s criminal case but did respond to Us‘ comment request regarding Quinn’s claims.

“The depths of Ms. Quinn’s delusion are once again on display. Her wild and unsubstantiated allegations have not stopped and her lack of credibility is best understood when read in conjunction with the unprecedented public statement by LAPD that her claims of hotel room bugging and alleged surveillance by Christian were unfounded,” read the statement. “The reality is that Ms. Quinn enjoyed complete financial and personal independence during the marriage while spending upwards of $30,000 a month of his money and is now facing a divorce without a prenup, and having to repay the community assets with the millions she made during the marriage.”
