Chris Martin had a sweet moment with his daughter, Apple, while attending her Le Bal des Débutantes debut.

The Coldplay singer, 47, shared a slow dance with Apple, 20, as part of her introduction into formal society in Paris on Friday, November 30. Martin smiled and laughed while dancing in a ballroom for the occasion, according to a TikTok shared by Paris Match.

At one point, he could be seen talking to his daughter as she twirled her around in a circle. Apple had a big smile on her face during the intimate moment, per the clip.

Both Martin and his ex-wife, Gwyneth Paltrow, were in France over the weekend to celebrate Apple’s high-society debut at the Shangri-La Hotel.

The college student wore a blue Valentino gown with tiers of silk plissé chiffon and a black bow at the waist. Apple was escorted by a young man who gave her a twirl during her introduction, according to the video.

Apple was identified as a woman “born in London and raised in Los Angeles” who is pursuing a degree in history. In addition to dancing with her father, Apple moved across the room with her escort as captured in another TikTok.

Apple’s support system for the evening didn’t end with her parents, who “consciously uncoupled” in 2014. Her grandmother, actress Blythe Danner, who is Paltrow’s mother, attended the ball as did Apple’s younger brother, Moses.

“A special long weekend in Paris 💙,” Paltrow, 52, captioned a series of photos from the event on Sunday, December 1.

The Iron Man actress shared a selfie before the gala with Apple and later snapped a picture with Moses, 18, Martin and Danner, 81, inside the lavish ballroom. Paltrow also posted a snap with Apple at the ball as the mother-daughter duo embraced and smiled.

Outside of celebrating Apple’s big day, Paltrow and Martin enjoyed time with Moses in Paris. The father-son duo soaked up the sun during a day in the park, per Paltrow’s photos. Moses later joined his mom and grandmother at an art gallery.

Paltrow and Martin were married just over 10 years before they separated in 2014. They finalized their divorce two years later. The exes have since been dedicated to coparenting their children.

“Chris and I committed to putting them first and that’s harder than it looks because some days you really don’t want to be with the person that you are getting divorced from,” Paltrow said during a September 2020 appearance on The Drew Barrymore Show. “But if you’re committed to having family dinner then you do it. You take a deep breath, and you look the person in the eye, and you remember your pact, and you smile, and you hug and you recommit to this new relationship that you are trying to foster.”

The exes have also managed to blend their new relationships into the fold. Paltrow married Brad Falchuk in 2018 while Martin has been dating Dakota Johnson since 2017.

“We’re actually very good friends,” Paltrow said of Johnson, 35, during an October 2023 Instagram Story Q&A. “I love her so much.”

Johnson, for her part, gushed about Martin and Paltrow’s kids during a March interview with Bustle. “I love those kids like my life depends on it. With all my heart,” the Madame Web actress said.
