POMONA, Calif. () — A suspect has been charged with three counts of murder after a police chase ended in a Pomona crash that killed a pregnant woman and her boyfriend, authorities said.

The victims were identified by the Los Angeles County medical examiner’s office as 25-year-old Jennifer Loera-Zarco, who was eight months pregnant, and her boyfriend, 26-year-old Marc Trejo Saldivar.

According to the Pomona Police Department, the sequence of events that led to the fatal crash began Wednesday night when officers responded to a report of domestic violence on East 10th Street.

While officers were speaking with the victim, police said the suspect, 31-year-old Marshall Judson returned to the scene, driving recklessly.

Judson allegedly intentionally struck a parked patrol car before fleeing the scene of that initial crash. A pursuit ensued, and authorities said it ended when Judson slammed into a Ford Fusion with the innocent victims inside.

Video from the scene showed debris scattered across the street, including a baby car seat.

A somber vigil was held Friday night in honor of the deceased.

“I just want people to know that — they keep saying that it was two lives lost but it was three,” Amber Torres, the pregnant victim’s sister, said tearfully. “The baby was his own person. He was almost here.

“I just want everybody to know that,” Torres said. “It wasn’t just two people that died that night, it was three.”

A pregnant woman and her boyfriend were killed Wednesday in Pomona when a suspect who was fleeing from police crashed into their vehicle, Eyewitness News has learned.

Police said a “firearm and miscellaneous firearm components” were found in Judson’s car. He also did not have a valid driver’s license, according to authorities.

Judson initially faced charges of vehicular manslaughter, assault with a deadly weapon on a peace officer, driving under the influence, driving without a valid license, felony evasion, and firearm-related charges.

He was later charged with murder.

A GoFundMe page was set up to help pay for the victims’ funeral expenses.
