LOS ANGELES () — A driver in a suspected stolen pickup truck fled authorities at high speeds and smashed through a fence during an erratic chase from the San Fernando Valley to the San Gabriel Valley.

AIR7 was over the pursuit shortly before 10:30 p.m. Wednesday as the suspect was fleeing on surface streets in the Whittier area.

There were moments when the truck – possibly a Ford Raptor – ran through red lights, made U-turns and traveled at reckless speeds.

A driver in a pickup truck fled authorities at high speeds and smashed through a fence during an erratic chase through L.A. County.

At some points, the chase resembled more of a joy ride where the driver would speed on surface streets without any police following. The suspect also plowed through a fence to drive down an alley.

Los Angeles police was initially in pursuit of the driver in the San Fernando Valley, where the driver got on the 170 Freeway and began heading south. The California Highway Patrol later took over the pursuit.

The chase reached the San Gabriel Valley, passing through Pasadena, Monrovia and Arcadia.

Cloudy conditions reduced visibility for both AIR7 and law enforcement aircraft, making it difficult to track the truck from the air.

It’s unclear if the driver was later arrested.
