What better way to spend your first Paris Fashion Week than at the Balenciaga show? WNBA star Cameron Brink added to the excitement with a surprise engagement. “I was absolutely shocked. He did such a great job! It was perfect and a complete surprise. I’m ecstatic to be marrying my best friend,” Brink tells Vogue of her surprise engagement to Ben Felter. “Talk about a dream trip! Paris is magical by itself and I got to go to my first fashion week show and got freaking engaged! Still on cloud nine.”
For her first-ever fashion show, Brink wanted to wear a look that appealed to her masculine-meets-feminine personal style. “My love of fashion and basketball has helped me tap into both sides of myself,” she says. “The older I get, I realize that dressing more femininely, away from basketball, is truly the best escape.” While the Los Angeles Sparks player has a lot of white in her future, she first hit the Balenciaga show in a massive leopard print coat from the fall 2024 collection. “I love it because it makes a statement,” she says. “I wanted my first Paris Fashion Week to be memorable and authentically myself and this portrays exactly that.”
The fashion-filled Parisian getaway was a welcome change of pace for the rookie, who is far more used to prepping for a game than she is for a show. “When I get ready for a game it’s very meditative, I don’t like to listen to a lot of music—I usually get ready alone and have a routine of my pregame meal, light makeup, and game visualization,” she says. While the world of fashion is still new, Brink declares “I love my hair and makeup team—chatting, listening to music, and laughing is absolutely the best part.”
