MORENO VALLEY, Calif. () — A brush fire broke out in the Inland Empire Friday morning, burning dozens of acres and triggering evacuations as Santa Ana winds picked up across Southern California.
The so-called Springs Fire was reported around 11 a.m. on Gilman Springs Road in Moreno Valley, according to Cal Fire/Riverside County Fire Department. At least 55 acres have burned in the light flashy fuels.
Evacuation orders were issued for the area around the fire. That impacts the following zones: MOE-0507, RVC-0748, RVC-0826.
Gilman Springs Road is closed from Alessandro Road to Bridge Street.
Meanwhile, over in northern Los Angeles County crews were battling another brush fire in Acton. That fire has burned 34 acres.
