Billie Eilish breaks down in tears over embarking on her first tour without her brother and collaborator, Finneas O’Connell, in the new trailer for her concert movie.

Eilish, 23, reveals in the Hit Me Hard and Soft: The Tour (Live in 3D) teaser released on Wednesday, December 10, that she cried when O’Connell, 28, gave her a note wishing her good luck before she hit the road in September 2024 to begin her 106-show trek.

“Almost 7 years ago to the day we started your first headline tour of North America,” O’Connell wrote. “It’s been the joy of my life to travel the world with you three times over and watch you hold every person who comes to your shows in the palm of your hand.”

He added, “Good luck tonight but you don’t need it, no one does it like you. Can’t wait to see you soon. Love, Pinch.”

The trailer then cuts to O’Connell surprising Eilish and her concertgoers on stage at the Co-op Live arena in Manchester, England, where she shot the film in July over the course of four-sold out nights. Eilish is shown looking over her shoulder and seeing O’Connell standing next to her, prompting her to stand up from her keyboard and give him a hug with a big smile on her face.

Prior to Hit Me Hard and Soft: The Tour, O’Connell had always accompanied his sister on guitar on the road. However, he was busy promoting his own 2024 solo album, For Cryin’ Out Loud!, as well as The Dream, a record he released in September with fellow singer-songwriter Ashe under the group name The Favors.

Eilish codirected the upcoming movie with James Cameron. A title card in Wednesday’s teaser notes that the nine-time Grammy winner “changed music,” while the three-time Oscar winner, whose credits include Titanic and Avatar, “changed movies.”

“No one’s shot a concert film on this scale before,” Cameron, 71, says in one scene. “We’re using tech that’s never been used before.”
