LOS FELIZ, LOS ANGELES () — If you’re going to wear a fedora and a tie while burglarizing a home, it’s probably a good idea to not leave that fedora at the scene.

That’s what happened in Los Feliz early Wednesday morning.

A man broke into the home of 101-year-old Daniel Saxon, stole his car, his keys and his address book, but managed to leave his fedora and a flashlight in the house.

Saxon was asleep when the break-in happened.

Surveillance video from the cameras of several neighbors show a man wearing the hat and tie checking front gates up and down Glencairn Road.

“He looked right into my camera, so we have a full facial shot of him,” a neighbor told Eyewitness News. “He was wearing a tie, which almost no one wears when they rob houses.”

But the mystery of the well-dressed burglar appears to be solved.

Culver City police arrested a man sitting inside Saxon’s white Honda in a parking lot of a fast-food restaurant Thursday morning.

Inside the car was Saxon’s address book as well as a trunkful of women’s clothes.
