EAST LOS ANGELES () — One person is dead and three others were injured in a shooting Tuesday evening in East Los Angeles near the 5 Freeway, authorities said.
The shooting was reported at around 8:15 p.m. Tuesday, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.
Four victims suffering from gunshot wounds were found on the 4700 block of Telegraph Road near Commerce, the Los Angeles County Fire Department said.
One person was pronounced dead at the scene while two of the other victims were transported to the hospital.
It was not immediately clear whether the fourth person was treated.
The conditions of the victims are unknown.
A SigAlert was issued at around 9 p.m., closing the Eastern Avenue offramp on the northbound 5 Freeway for just over half an hour as police activity continued in the area.
Video from AIR7 showed the intersection of Telegraph Road and Arizona Avenue closed and at least six patrol cars as authorities canvassed the scene.
A potential suspect description was not immediately available.
The cause of the shooting is under investigation.
